The new MicroSideled 3806 from Osram Opto Semiconductors is designed specifically to meet these requirements. It is extremely efficient in white and also in blue, offers consistent brightness throughout its lifetime of 15,000 hours, and can withstand high temperature and high current. At the end of its rated life, it does not simply go dark. Rather, half of the light emitting diodes still provide 70 percent of their initial brightness (L70/B50).

Plessey today announced that samples of its Gallium Nitride (GaN) on silicon LED products (p/n PLW111010) are today available.
